Wooden case covered with black leather has a brass clasp. It is lined with gray velvet. Inside there are two bands on either side with black leather panels stamped with gold text "PRESIDENT WARREN G. HARDING / BEST WISHES FROM / THE BEATY SPORTING GOODS CO. / THE 'BUG HOUSE OF AMERICA' / BUTTE, MONTANTA." The case contains 24 fly-fishing lures made to resemble insects. The lures have metal hooks, feathers, bristles and string. Each has a length of clear fishing line with a loop at the end.
